I don’t plant outside until late by other standards. Honestly, waiting a couple more weeks doesn’t make much difference. Planting early you run the risk of frost and growth doesn’t come as fast. Waiting a couple of weeks things take off much quicker. I can’t tell much difference in production and I don’t have the headache. YMMV.
They look okay right now. I'm not sure I would see the cell damage if it did frost. Not sure how long it takes. I'm guessing they would begin to wilt through the day. Right now they look pretty vibrant and strong though. They look better than they did yesterday after I was done planting.
