Maybe I’m just getting older but proprietary software might not be the baddie we have thought it is this whole time. Seeing the issues with bounties and stolen code without payouts makes me want to blow the dust of Atlas Shrugged and remove “Open Source” from my bio.

What kind of injuries have you suffered, and at the hands of what mechanism in the FOSS space?🤔

And, is there a remedy?

Sincere curiosity here from someone who is very intrigued by V4V concepts, while at the same time recognizing "real world" realities...😃

I’ve not suffered any injuries. I am referring to this thread if you’re interested. I don’t have any solutions besides the tried and true capitalism fueling innovation. All good questions.

The problem with booties has nothing to do with FOSS. The solution is simply for devs to negotiate payment before work is complete. FOSS or not.
