Can someone explain to me why the public chat in iris/amethyst is so good and the one in Damus is so spammy?

Amethyst let’s you select granularity where you want to read from each relay. Damus doesn’t yet support this.

Iris rejects all content from authors that your social network has not interacted with. You get way less spam.
It’s an interesting approach. It would be a good filter configuration for client apps.
💯 and it works based on user trust on network (and eventually when relays such as porn relays are up, the engagement for porn users would be isolated and what might seem spam to us would naturally reduce) - I find this to be a much better approach as current limitations of some relays in 3rd degree contact is affecting viewability of good contents and would def impact user adoptions
What is interaction defined as ? Likes and comments only or followed as well?

most users havent tried Iris and it shows… is there a way to identify other iris users and sending them zaps
