Sell me on this.

I sleep on the floor when my lower back is sore and it fixes it. Is there a good reason to do it regularly?

Yes... short story: its extremely beneficial for your body especially your back.

I've written most of my experiences down here: https://highlighter.com/npub1lelkh3hhxw9hdwlcpk6q9t0xt9f7yze0y0nxazvzqjmre3p98x3sthkvyz/FAQ-Sheet-Sleeping-on-the-Floor-a6m3ru

and made a video about that here: https://youtu.be/ICnLS1BbZ_w

I've slept on noting but carpet and a sleeping bag for 15 years now, for the sake of my back. When I try sleeping on a bed again, my back gets worse within a week, making vacations hard for me.

Great stuff. Nice video.

About 14 years ago I had a custom mattress made which is just a quited padding wrapped around thin dense foam, far more firm than any commercial mattress. I used it for years. It was great. Really fixed my back, and sleeping in a soft sagging back with zero support is intolerable for me. But over time the firmness of even the dense foam broke down, and I bought the firmest commercial mattress I could find (which really isn't firm enough).

If I go to the floor now ... and I think I will... I'll probably start with a thin layer of dense foam (yes it probably leeches forever chemicals, but I'm a wimp and I want a little bit of padding).
