Reading about the american war of independence really makes you appreciate how much Heinlein copied from history when writing "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress". So many little details are taken straight from real life episodes.
I keep coming back to this book... it really shows Heinlein's genius that he could write from an ancap perspective in this book, then write a hippy leftist free love "Stranger in a Strange Land"... then a fascist "Starship Troopers". It takes a lot of detachment from an author to change perspective and make it believable.
He basically did 3 of the 4 Nolan chart quadrants without falling into strawmen. The one he could not do straight was the left-authoritarian... he hated commies too much...
