Question from a novice, non-tech person here….is there a wallet like Strike or Wallet of Satoshi where I can send and receive bitcoin without having to give up my identity/private info like my address, driver’s license number which is shared with the government?

You just set your wallet up. Electrum, for example. All it takes is a seed.

The real issue is that you are confusing an actual audit trail with something that allows privacy.

BTC is designed to be transparent. You can only be private if you can maintain privacy going in, AND coming out.

And it's second that is really hard. You might solve the first by giving friends of yours cash for BTC, and maybe stash $20,000 over a year. But when BTC goes to the famed $1M, every exit bigger than groceries has a reporting mechanism.

Best thing, relax with the KYC. Only serious crims need to be that paranoid. Focus on the soundness of the money.

not sure i agree with “only serious crims need to be that paranoid.”
