Overpopulation concerns are never about “getting rid” of people who are already here. Stop thinking like Thanos. Sheesh! It’s about effectively managing the future.

It’s about access to safe, effective, and affordable family planning tools including birth control and abortion. It’s about widespread affordable, even “free”, access to pre-natal care, vaccines, and pediatrics so that children grow up healthy and strong. It’s about taking care of this planet, its natural resources, and environment so that profit-driven interests don’t continue to prioritize greed over clean air, water, and land.

There’s no reason to have six kids if you’re confident that most of them won’t die of malnutrition, disease, or worse, before they reach the age of ten.

And it doesn’t happen with the snap of your Infinity Gauntlet, either. It takes generations for culture to change. But it has in many places, and I’m optimistic that it will continue to do so throughout the world.
