Remembering the early twitter days (for me) like 2009-11.

My 50ish friend circle would post like crazy and b-list comedians would drop occasional bangers that got RT'd a bunch.

This filled the timeline.

It was great.

A friend would live-tweet a slow-brewing homeless fight going on outside his apartment window, or their mother-in-law getting drunk at a family game night.

This action punctuated by slogans, evangelistic one-liners, quirky quotes, occasional hot political takes.

It really didnt feel like an attention machine.

It felt like overheard mall-chatter from some coming-of-age 90s movie.

You could jump in and usually were delighted when the box poked back.

Nostr can be so much more than that, but I do hope it keeps hitting these notes.
