Sadly, perception is way more importance in a fiat system than your work product.

Perception is Fiat’s best friend. 
That's not limited to fiat. You can only accept BTC and what people think about your product is more important than how good your product is.
It sucks for people like me who are good engineers and terrible salespeople.
Works out great for people who are good salespeople though.
