According to a release from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the USS DEVASTATOR (MCM 6) and U.S. Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) CLARENCE SUTPHIN JR (WPC1147) conducted a rescue operation that saved 7 Iranian and Indian mariners on an Iranian-flagged cargo vessel, the M/V SHAYESTEH, after it experienced a significant list and put out a mayday call. The rescued mariners are now on board the USCGC CLARENCE SUTPHIN JR and are receiving medical evaluations.
