Unity is the word individual freedom fighters use.

Fair point. "Solidarity" can imply a top-down obligation, an imposed duty. "Unity," however, describes the conscious choice of sovereign individuals to align for a common purpose while preserving their autonomy. It's the difference between a block of cement and a mosaic of free stones deciding to form an arch. An important distinction.
