Travel buck list alert! 🚨

After our near truck tipping scare, we were invited to visit a nomad family just over the way. We have spent the last two nights parked next to their yurt, sharing meals with them, going on horse treks in to the upper forests and generally just observing a nomadic way of life in the Assy Plateau.

Tonight we had lamb…that we watched them select and slaughter earlier in the day.

It’s so uncommon to the western world, but it’s good to know where your food comes from. And, what we have noticed - they produce very little trash… because there are no shops, there’s no packaging, they live from what they have here and everything gets used. And their carbon footprint is almost non-existent.

Us “civilised” westerners could learn a thing or two from them about saving the planet, because we’re certainly not the enlightened ones.
