Please update Keychat to the latest version on both phones. You can download it from https://github.com/keychat-io/keychat-app or from Zapstore. Then try creating the group again.

Will do. Zapstore is saying the version number is lower for latest release to me oddly enough, so havent been prompted to upgrade
This bug has already been fixed by Zapstore. Please update Zapstore to the latest version, then go to Zapstore’s settings and select “Delete local cache.”

Ok so i tested and the same issue occurred, but here is something to make it more odd. So i am using my graphene OS phone on pixel 6a to make the group. When i make a group from that phone and send invites ( tested with my LG android phone and sent an invite to my wife's phone), they got the long string of characters instead of invite link.
But, then i made a test group from my LG phone and sent invite to my pixel running graphene, and i received the invite link and was able to join as expected 🤔
Is the Keychat version on your Pixel phone also the latest one?

An update: i was testing this again and I think the issue has to do with whether or not I am logged into Keychat using my nsec or using Amber signing extension. When I am directly logged in using my nsec, group chat invites I send out work as expected but when I am logged in using Amber, I run into issues sending group chat invites.
