Elon acknowledging that users can be shadow-banned and labeling coordinated actions from verified accounts as spam raises serious questions about the integrity of this centralized system.

Imagine if verified accounts, “blue checks,” begin to mute Elon. Would his reach decline? Almost certainly not. Would theirs? Probably.

But what about accounts he aligns with? Do they receive algorithmic boosts? This seems likely based on patterns we’ve already seen.

And what about dissenting voices? These accounts are already facing shadow bans, reduced reach, and even removal of their verification status.

This isn’t free speech; this is algorithmically controlled speech.

Elon seems to advocate for an environment where his and the majority's speech remains uncompromised, while those who don’t subscribe to mainstream doctrines are perniciously filtered out.

This type of governance, shaped by opaque algorithms, highlights the dangers of centralized platforms.

The only way to stop control is to let go of it entirely. It’s simple in theory but impossible in practice for most.

If only we had an open-source, permissionless, censorship-resistant protocol that no centralized authority could control or manipulate that aligns with free speech principles to ensure that no entity can decide whose voice is artificially amplified or silenced.

Oh, wait…#Nostr. It’s good to be here with you ✊🏽

I was this week old when I found out nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx nostr:npub1dergggklka99wwrs92yz8wdjs952h2ux2ha2ed598ngwu9w7a6fsh9xzpc nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m and others have been raising the alarm here for quite some time. Doh 🥴

I’m behind the times. What else have I been missing?

Shill me your favorite accounts…I’m interested in #Bitcoin, #Marketing, #Photography, #MusicTheory, and #HealthAndFitness.

It’s not too late. I’ve been here long enough to see how it changes people. Not everyone gets it, especially influencoors with large followings who show up and immediately expect the royal treatment, and learn the hard way that they have to work for it just like anyone else. There’s nothing more pathetic than seeing one of these big accounts with just a handful posts, mostly just copies of their tweets not get any traction and never come back, because they didn’t understand the entire point of Nostr. They don’t belong here. It’s better this way.

I’ve only been here a few days but it’s been a pretty amazing. Interactions feel much more authentic, conversational, and community based.

I have close to 100k followers on FB and IG for my photography. I’ve created so many lifelong relationships through those platforms, but Monetization and Reels have severely fractured the community to the point I no longer even participate.

It looks like I found my people once again 🔥

I appreciate that you haven’t put your IG link in your bio yet. Welcome this chance to build a new audience based on your creative skills and personal interactions.
