Confucius had an interesting statement along these lines:

"A gentleman, in his plans, thinks of the Way; he does not think how he is going to make a living. Even farming sometimes has a shortage; and even learning may incidentally bring a salary. A gentleman is concerned with the progress of the Way; he is not anxious about poverty."

The Analects of Confucius (ed. 1964)

And we know who said that He is the Way...

yes, and kungfu-tzu and chuang-tzu used to have debates with each other and Chuang named his system "The Way" also, funny that

also even the word "islam" actually means "way of peace" from the same root as shalom/salaam

also note the timing of all of this... guatama and confucius and chuang all popped up 2500 years ago, then we had Jesus, and then 500 years later Mohammed

i do wonder whether the entire timeline is confused somehow... or more exactly perhaps, the names and dates were changed to protect the innocent descendents of those involved

ah yes and i did forget Zoraster as well, and there was a bunch of others also around that 2500 year mark that i'm probably forgetting

i have no idea what is the history because it probably was erased if it was true, aside from the christian version, which was held outside of the reach of the governments of the time in an underground rebellion that persisted for at least 300 years leading to the "conversion" of Constantine and the institution of the Catholic Church

i think it's just as possible that it was actually around 700 years before the romans manufactured a means to continue their empire covertly in its second failure

What are you trying to say?

Do you see the parallels with what Jesus said?

Following the Way, i.e. Jesus, is seeking first God's kingdom. That should be our priority and the Way will take care of the rest. Confucius knew about the Way/Tao, he just didn't know Him as person since He had not yet Incarnated.

Thanks for clarifying! I talked with my girlfriend the other day, God’s Kingdom is the ultimate Goal. It aligns our path profoundly!
