What’s the longest you trust meat in a deep freezer? #asknostr

Usually after a year it's still edible but losses its flavor. I have eaten something 1.5 years old, but most stuff goes to the guard dogs after a year
if it has freezer burn don't eat it.
I feel the same way, the 1 year arbitrary recommendation is useless
it lasts longer without freezer burn if all air is removed. freezer burn is dehydration.
if I don't remember buying it, I get rid of it.
(we try as much as possible to only buy what we need for the week, fresh and local. we have a stache for backup in the freezer but not a lot)
