Oh, that's cool. nostr:npub1yauhh489aefdkzsewe5vj2u68elzxlsln7nn5yxr34e3c22vljdqkn7h9m I am happy to continue supporting Stemstr with sats. I still have a lot of techno tracks and with techno some songs are 10 minutes long. If it doesn't cause any major problems, I would be happy to upload the tracks. I am a music producer from Munich with my own label and of course I have all the rights to my songs.
Discussion
One quick point… Stemstr is, in my understanding, aiming more at fostering musical collaboration than it is about broadcasting finished music. ( nostr:npub1yauhh489aefdkzsewe5vj2u68elzxlsln7nn5yxr34e3c22vljdqkn7h9m correct me if I am wrong). Wavlake.com is purely about distribution.
For example, this thread https://stemstr.app/thread/33c9faa27d8c252ac0f155104e6d4b94fcb5cdb40be9e5cf19617b051f8b58b3 became this track https://www.wavlake.com/track/5f9975f2-39d3-4439-ba29-c4e32d873074
Yes, I've seen that too. I'm currently looking at https://www.wavlake.com/.
But I don't understand the site. It's all too confusing. 😄
What is confusing about it? What I personally find confusing is why I am still not able to log in as a creator using my Nostr key. 😔
Exactly that! Just had to register with e-mail. Now I'm filling out the Artist form. Let's see. The start page didn't give me any idea what exactly it was about. I would have thought that as a listener I would have been taken directly to the genre selection to start listening to music. Everything around it is very distracting, somehow.
Yea, sadly it mostly relies on Billboard and latest upload for discovery, far from ideal for many reasons.
I think the Top 40 is all based on zaps and not plays, too. Which is a little weird imo
I posted about it a few times in the past. It allows to replicate the old model where publishers would buy records back from the stores to get billboard visibility. I mean nothing wrong with that if you are the one grabbing the % fee, right?
The problem is, I believe, most humans want to see the ranking, they want to know what is popular.
Solution: user specific rankings based on custom parameters, no centralized billboards. Parameters: plays, shares, zaps, likes, comments, aggregated score from Nostr tribe and network…
I don't think that's the problem either. As a listener, I am very fixated on genres. Depending on the mood of the day, I want to listen to certain genres. If the homepage was like Beatport, for example, then I would see the top lists of my desired genre directly.
But for that, the start page might need something like Swimmlanes, per genre or something. An overview of what's available. The best thing would be to save my selection of genres in the cookie.
In other words, a UI that focuses entirely on the listener and the characteristics of the music.
I think you're both right and it's totally subjective on the part of the user. I like the user-specific rankings based on custom parameters as a solution.
Anyone familiar with wavlake's roadmap? It's possible this is there.
"Luckily, because we have an open library, we are no longer the only place that can showcase all this great, new music."
From a little over a week ago. Wavlake may be positioning to be the database and let others be the presentation

Ben, it’s been awesome to hear your music! Gek is correct about the shorter track length. I believe that 7 minutes is our max.
