What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Altman has ill intentions? Or do you believe such projects can only end poorly? Both? Something else?

I think most of the world’s population is already in some U.S. database anyway. At least participation in this one is voluntary and, if properly handled, may lead to democratic improvements that would be unimaginable without such a database (digital voting for instance).

It may as well be 1984. If you think this will not get misused at the slightest inconvenience the US gov has, then ask yourself who OpenAI just partnered with... Microsoft... and it is pretty well known how cozy Microsoft and the US government are... look in your heart... you already know how Worldcoin will play out.

How do we ever get 1/ a true digital voting platform 2/ apps dedicated to and protecting children without something like world ID?
