we have a small cage that serves as a sort of halfway house for baby chickens who are old enough to be alone outside, but too young to sleep alone outside. when we start putting a group of young chickens in the cage, one of the things we watch for, is which of the grown free range chickens decides to spend the most time at the cage door of the baby chicks. we are discovering a correlation between that chickens personality, and the overall personality of the new group. 🙂
