They are. Try replying to or quoting other people's stuff, so that you appear in their notifications and they feel motivated to respond. Some of them will eventually click on your profile and maybe even follow you back or boost one of your notes.

This is what I meant, using the reply approach would probably lead to a flood of low quality content that tries to capture someone's attention
