Well we went to buy a new washer, with the intention of maybe buying a Speed Queen since they are supposed to be the best. They are also the most expensive. We have a local store that carries them, and the owner was nice enough to spend some time helping me choose. He told me that recently they've been seeing issues with computer boards on the Speed Queens, so even the most expensive brand is having quality issues. I ended up buying a commercial grade GE washer. Also made in USA, and the store offers service for them in case of a problem.
