OOh~ didn't know about Ubuntu added back Unity from the grave, nice I guess. lol

I think gnome 3 is very similar, I don't see any great advantages in keeping Unity, but options are always welcome. After gnome 2 I switched to Cinnamon, a while ago I tested gnome 3 and ended up liking it

I use Gnome 3 quite a long actually since the release of 3.0. Unity wasn't my thing but since the controversy I didn't know ended removing it. Cinnamon for me still looks Gnome with extensions didn't make sense and still doesn't makes sense lol.

I could tell you, I did try Fedora 14 when they have Gnome 2.32 but that time feels out dated the looks of the desktop, then comes Fedora 15 with his shiny Gnome 3 and since then Fedora for me is and still is my favorite distro mostly because they bring the most clean without much additives on Gnome.

Even if I making a pause in using Linux, technically four years now without using it. I've been watching closely the advancements, now Gnome 40 series or this case 45 looks awesome to me.

In the case of Cinnamon I agree, I changed it just to keep a simpler bar without having to customize a new version of Gnome, that's why I say that options are always welcome, there's always some use for someone hahaha I've always used distributions based on Debian , to this day I can't use Windows for development, so I end up using Linux for everything I need without having to change systems
