It is correct to capitalize demonyms and among them enthnonyms. The White ethnicity isn't something that came up naturally, it was something that was forced upon western Whites in an attempt to ingrain within them a permanent sense of shame and guilt, to weaken them and prevent them from taking collective action. The push for capitalizing black comes because those same people want blacks in North America and Western Europe to have a strong ethnic identety with each other, whereas they want Whites to have a weak sense. However now many people are beginning to turn it back and identify properly with it. We are witnessing ethnologists in real time. Weather it will survive and there will be a White people it the future, and what that people will be like in specific can't be told. White supremacy and White nationalism wouldn't be a thing if the idea of Whiteness as an ethnicity didn't exist.
