This is a common misconception. Moving more doesn’t mean you can eat more calories. Your body has a base rate of calories it burns per day and if it engages in more physical activity, it’ll find different ways to become more efficient at saving calories. Like using less energy for the brain or making you too tired to work. So people end up not making any changes. They’ve done studies on hunter gather tribes in Africa and found that they burn the same amount of calories per day as modern western people. We just eat more calories because our food is so unhealthy that we never feel satiated.
