I am 50 but even at "middle age" and aging fast I keep trying to learn more and do more.

Some of my next projects...

1. Develop the best Salsa Macha recipe there is and publish a how to on it

2. Completely revamp one of my fish tanks using new techniques and publish the how to on this as well. Thanks to "Father Fish" for this one.

3. Expand my knowledge of ChatGPT to how to effectively use 20 different plugins effectively before I turn 51 in August. I am at 8 since starting a few weeks ago.

4. Develop a fermented version of our cucumber salsa (very different from #1)

5. Learn the process of degoogling an android phone and installing my own OS instead of buying it off the shelf.

6. Upgrade my home network of a WiFi mesh style network.

7. Learn how to make "mushroom catchup", I can thank Towsends for this one.

8. Develop a wrap based on canned chicken for my waffle cone maker where I have already done it with pork rinds and an egg/cheese version

None of these are directly related to my business, could make a list a mile long between now and end of summer if I did that. We should all be doing things like this all the time, all our lives.

Don't waste your Dash! Polymaths are not born, they are made by never ceasing learning.

Would be interested to see the list of gpt extensions.

Agreed, I'd like to see that.

Degoogling a phone is on my list of to do's. I'm waiting for one of our phones to be replaced, as our last phones were broken. Would you suggest just buying a cheap Android phone as a test piece?

That's the way I'm thinking of doing it. Either through my freind network or FB market place. Might as well get some revenge on Zuckerberg 🤣

My Android phone is really my only link to 'old' media and tech companies. Can't wait to fully cut that cancer out.

Here's a decent place to find them inexpensively.

Thanks mate, I'll check it out

I whole heartedly agree on this, the day we stop learning is the day we might as well get in the box.

I'm 49 in November, here's my list..

So far this year.

1, started to learn video editing skills.

2, convert an old pc into a #star9 server.

3, comit to learning about bitcoin and actively use it.

4, set up a bitcoin node, lightning node and nostr relay on the server along with iris as a cleint.

For the future.

1, learn to be consistent in video production.

2, learn to create mesh networks

3, build a workshop, and use it.

4, set up the btcpay store on the server.

5, build up the side hustle.

6, build community.

There's a few others to add but this is going to be the most important one.

Learn to be a grandpa..

My middle step-daughter has just told us she's expecting!!!! 😁 🎊

Mushroom ketchup?

Spill the beans.

You gonna try some?

On the salsa matcha thing, maybe try finely chopped or coarsely ground pecans. They release their oil when heated and I personally like the taste when it’s blended with garlic that is toasted before adding it to the mix.

Pecans are one of the plans, the other is pine nuts, no legumes (peanuts)

Used to have a lot of pecans. My mom said the tree in the backyard and the two behind my dad’s office aren’t producing anymore last time I visited. Course I’m not sure if it was my grandparents or my great grandparents that planted them.

There might be some things your local extension office can tell you in order to get your trees to produce again.

I’ll mention it to my mom and dad.

I make a delicious zucchini salsa that won blue ribbon at the agricultural fair. I originally made it as a way to get rid of all the extra zucchini!

As for degoogling… Haven gone down the road, best way for me was to get an unlocked google pixel and flash the CalyxOS onto it. Still allows you to use apps that need google services, but anonymizes it. Hard to get through life without certain apps! I also like how you can create profiles for different uses. I have it set one for personal and one for work. With my business I have to use google business apps so couldn’t get around that, but having a separate profile on the phone did the trick!

The degoogled phone is high on my list!
