I was thinking about casual donations, that can be repeated over the time, too.

With bolt12 seems we will have recurring (micro)payments, so the path to frictionless subscriptions will open. Users can be generous but are also lazy, this could help!

Right, somebody else mentioned bolt 12 earlier too. The combination of tips + larger donations + subscriptions doesn't really matter as long as we get somewhere near that finish line every year, which is about what it would cost to do it properly.
