I said I would even make free profile pictures instead of AI, he never gave me a yes. But I could paint whatever as long as he is open to it.

No need for profile pictures since we generate them with robohash, but a default background for all users that don't have a banner could be great.

I think the free images of a 'wall' is kind of amusing as a default image. Nice and plain too. But I suspect you want something more lively. Let's see if anyone suggests / makes something cool:)
