One small correction: Hitler actually wanted to have Poland on his side as an ally. From 1933 up until 1938 he spoke a number of times with both Polish ambassador Lipski and FM Beck as well as sent emissaries - especially Goering who came to Poland a number of times - to Polish authorities with different proposals which went much further than the final German conditions from 1939. In exchange for Poland agreeing to Danzig re-joining Germany, the highway and railway line through the "corridor" as well as joining the Axis he proposed to do the unthinkable: recognize officially Poland's western border with Germany! Goering also suggested that in case of joint war with the USSR Poland could gain further territories in what is now Ukraine. So, essentially Hitler proposed Poland to be Germany's junior partner in the Axis and he wanted to gradually bury the German-Poland animosity dating to the Bismarck's "kulturkampf" days. This is well documented and was discussed by few Polish historians, most recently by Krzysztof Rak in his book "Poland - Hitler's unfulfilled ally" (which was his doctoral thesis BTW) with extensive quotations from the documents from that period. Unfortunately, this research & documents are mostly unknown in the West. And all of this, of course, pre-dated Hitler's bitter disappointment which resulted in harsh measures during German occupation of Poland 1939-45.

Unfortunately, people leading Poland were too stupid to understand the situation, to see the magnitude to Hitler's vision - they were also misled by the British and the Americans who played a major but unseen role in ensuring Poland changed to sharply anti-German course since late 1938. And Polish ruling elites at the time were thoroughly penetrated by freemasonry esp. the "French rite".

So, the Poland's blunder was way more monumental than it is seen by Western historians. The irony is that this blunder of theirs did not just end Poland's existence as an independent nation - Poland now is just a puppet of Jewish-American globalist cliques - it also decided that the history of the world run along this fatal timeline we endure now.
