The amount of people’s net worth that is in Real estate is the most interesting thing to me right now. Feels a little like a ponzi. Especially if population growth slows or reverses, how does most real estate hold value?

Land. The value of the land is usually worth more than what’s on it in most places. It’s a resource we aren’t getting more of.

The number of people thinking real estate investing is a great idea always baffled me, because it doesn't follow economic sense. All it did was make homes overpriced because so many people thought real estate would make them rich.
It'll drop. The big corps will buy it up. I don't know who else could afford it after that though. It might not drop far after the big guys buy it, since then they won't sell and will just charge rent forever. This is assuming a regional monopoly. I don't know the distribution pattern for real estate though
