One potential problem I see is using statistical averages of where people are and concluding that this is where they should be.

Being the average, or even above it, does not necessarily mean that one is where they should be or that they're in a good place.

It could be the case that the average person is significantly lower than where they should be. I suspect they are in the US at least.
