Some years ago, I did a week long workshop here learning and practicing techniques for building with bales, roundwood, and cob, including finishing techniques like plastering and creating bottle windows.
We learned to make foundations for earthen floors, strip bark from trees, make a simple roof, make and apply cob, shape and stack bales, mount shelves, windows, and electrical boxes, finish walls and earthen floors, apply plasters, and more.
We also toured several natural homes that had been built in the area.
This would have been one of the greatest weeks of my life even without the terrific food π
This sounds like something I should try.
You guys did a lot in that one week, as there so many aspects to a building and this type of knowledge is better absorbed by hands on experience.
Good food definitely adds to the overall experience, Iβm glad you enjoyed the whole natural building process.
As far as I can foresee, parts of North America would be doable, the rest is a stretch π
But maybe someday I could do somewhere farther away. When the time comes, let me know, and Iβll let you know if Iβm able π
