Yeah, the whole thing about relays, and how different clients mess up with each other is one of the really big problems with Nostr. Most current users, early adopters, can handle and live with this. Normies will never accept it. Lots of work to be done before Nostr can really go mainstream.

And by the way, I've always shown my appreciation for all the devs who mostly give their time for free to improve Nostr.

So, whenever I've gotten rather smug answers to my feedback about this ("just stick to my client and don't use any other", and the likes) I've always chosen understanding and support instead of abrasiveness and derision.

I will keep doing so, but as I said, normies will not, and we must be aware of it.
