I just finished the book "Your Brain Is a Time Machine: The Neuroscience and Physics of Time" by Dean Buonomano.

Overall I'd give it 3/5 stars, but there were a couple of good nuggets in there that made me think.

Do you believe that humans are beings who travel through time? or do you believe that we are stationary and time is always flowing by us like a river? The book only presented these are different possible interpretations and didn't take a hard position one way or the other.

I believe that we all travel through time, never stationary and always in the same direction of course, but that we actually travel through time at different rates depending our our state of mind / state of consciousness. This is why time perception changes as we age and can depend on the activity we are engaged in. In this way, we really do have some level of control over the time machine in our brains.

I also had some other random ponderings about time in the article linked below which were published before I read this book.

Enjoy!
