Isn't thinking thing called "brain" ?
I've heard the soul defined as our mind, will, intellect, imagination and emotions. The brain is the physical thing we do all of that with, but the soul is the incorporeal entity doing it all. It is the life in the eyes of a body, "the ghost in the machine", what is gone when "the candle blows out." Once a person dies, the brain is still there, but the person, i.e., the soul, is gone.

That is the accurate and standard description ..but the question was - is it real or not ? Means - can we see , hear or touch it with senses ?

Exactly.. but the question is - is it real or just a mental construct ? .. real means - can we actually see it -hear or touch it ?
We cannot see it, hear it, measure it. It just is. Kinda like a nostr, texts notes protocol individually existed and will exist but at this moment it all came together to give us nostr. The identity of nostor comes from the amalgamation of different things.
Soul's and it's properties exists when we came about. Our complexity created the unified thing called soul.
Emotions cannot be measured seen touched yet it exists.

Some people claim to be able to see it.
It is actually very easy - cuz the little world around us (not the universe) - I call it our tiny box - is a mirror image of our soul .. like particles and anti-particle combo .. all you need is to look around and transpose it left to right - upside down :-)
