these are at once difficult and wonderful to read. escaping something but not pushing the experience away, coming through it without separating from it, and emerging on the other side with feelings that seem to be in conflict but are in perfect accord.

each time i see one of these I'm pushed to write more about my childhood even though I already think I've written too much.
