Permission is for rent-seekers. That's how they make money, build status and get opportunities, by acting as an authority that has some right to a cut of the things you want to do.

Stop asking permission. Instead, evaluate your own values and decide on that. It's a lot more responsibility, but it's going to make you a lot more mature than the fiat suckers that ask permission as if it's a substitute for moral evaluations.
