That was using nip 95, not nip 94. 95 stores the image data inside the note, on the relay. 94 uploads to traditional hosting, but had a hash included so you can guarantee the image hasn't changed since upload.

Just use the simple URL option then. This isn't difficult.

💯 it shouldn’t be difficult. But the wording on the upload screen makes it confusing for people when everything in internet culture trains you to use the “secure” option of anything. It’s misleading the way they are labeled.

What’s the best long-term method that doesn’t also break everything in the short-term?
