noob #plebchain #bitcoin q: moving coins from hot software to cold hardware...

Do I import hot wallet passphrase in cold hardware, or send/receive from hot to cold (end goal being to have coins stored only on cold, hardware wallet)? Any insight appreciated.

Generate a seed phrase on the hardware wallet and send from the hot wallet to your hardware wallet.

You have to assume that your hot wallet is compromised at any given time since it is on a device connected to the internet.

You hardware wallet generates its seed on the device and it’s never connected to the internet, that’s why it is called cold storage. It is the only long term secure way of storing your Bitcoin.
