Was talking to two "young farmers" at the bar last night and they couldn't stop contradicting themselves every 5 minutes.

"I don't take any money from the government"

"I'll take all the money I can get from the government while it lasts"

"I farm pigs cuz I like them"

"I only farm pigs cuz my grandad gave me the hog operation"

Saying nonsense about no body buys pork anymore and corn and soy is all that grows here. Didn't want to listen to shit about what I had to say, it was very frustrating considering I can grow my pigs out faster than them on better feed without any govt subsidies and not on a dry lot. Many industrial farmers are the typical dumb hicks, ranchers seem to be the only people who I've been able to have a somewhat intelligent conversation with on these topics.
