Is there actually a greater household disaster than dropping a glass bottle full of maple syrup on the floor, which then shatters into a thousand pieces?

I feel this. I lost my job the week before thanksgiving and the collateral damage just keeps piling up. A household is always on the brink, in every way imaginable and unimaginable.
