The old Popeye cartoon was a psyop.

We all know the federal reserve was established in 1913. The negative effects on the economy weren’t felt right away. The first Popeye comic strip was released in 1929, the same year as the Great Depression. Popeye was adapted into a cartoon in 1933, the same year that executive order 6102 was issued.

Popeye’s iconic line was “I’m strong to the finish because I eats me spinach.” I remember as a little kid I would ask my mom for spinach so I can be strong like Popeye but it was so disgusting I couldn’t ever finish it. The cartoon led to a 33% increase in spinach sales in 1933 and children considered spinach to be one of their top 3 favorite foods at that time.

Popeye’s girlfriend was named Olive Oil. Popeye found a baby named sweepea on his doorstep and raised it with his gf. The baby’s name comes from the name of the sweet pea flower.

There was a fat dumb character named Wimpy. He’s shown to always eat hamburgers and his famous line was “I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.” Burgers make you fat and dumb. Spinach makes you strong. Plants good.

The message they were sending is clear. Eat more spinach and less meat. The timing and the message is not a coincidence. Inflation made meat more expensive. To compensate, people were manipulated into settling for cheaper alternatives. Olive oil over tallow and lard. Spinach over hamburgers.

Will they do the same with ze bugs?

I had a rudimentary thought like this as well, you verbalised it well here, great take!

Ayo what

👀👀

Great insight!

Saifedean Ammous would be proud of your assessment of popeye.

Somethings seem either harmless or ridiculous at first but years past and hindsight reveals all. Look at the food pyramid- we all know that was bullshit now! But the data behind popeye is compelling, thanks for showing us that.

I wish he was more active on nostr so he could see it lol the food pyramid is criminal

How about the Lion King? Simba eating bugs with friends he would normally eat...

Great point I didn’t think of that. There was meat eaten by the villains.
