Jack started Bluesky when he was still at Twitter. As far as I can tell, the AT protocol used by Bluesky is more similar to Mastodon. Nostr, on the other hand, appears to be a more robust technology in terms of privacy and decentralisation—and it was developed later. I might be wrong on the timeline, though
