Born in 1568 in Macedonia, Joseph embraced monasticism at a young age, seeking spiritual perfection. He became the Metropolitan of Timișoara, known for his wisdom, humility, and charity. During a time of great hardship, Joseph sold his own episcopal vestments and church vessels to feed the poor, embodying true selflessness. He retired to Partoș Monastery, dedicating his final years to prayer and contemplation until his death in 1656.
