Roman was likely just blamed because the authorities could find the real operator. But yes, he should be free.

As much as I dislike Telegram, I used it since late 2013 before privacy/censorship was a larger part of the public consciousness. Durov should not be inciminated by so called "free speech activists", they also reside in Monero communities.
