Sort of, in above simple example I'm doing a query for users.

Do you do that by using the pubkey of a user? What’s a standard way to count the total number of likes that someone has received?

Will make a blog post on my raw socket adventures at some point, and post an example. Mainly doing these experiments now so I can better grok the json output for a client I'm working on.
