It's pretty hard to help with marketing musicians, who are not willing to provide any live videos. "Why would you record such a shame? Just tell them to come! Why are no tickets sold??"
Dumbass🤦🏻♀️

I’m also a musician songwriter all in German released a lot of albums in Germany in the last 30 years
And thinking to rebuild here
Just don’t know how yet
it’s going step-by-step.
That’s why I’m curious.
Wish you all the best for that
Life-long musician here, I also owned a business for double digit years that served musicians.
Self-sabotage through idealistic perfectionism is a very common thing in our tribe.
It sounds to me like that's what you're running into.
Yes. Yes, yes. But I'm also in that band. This is so annoying. "Then do the marketing better!" No, I won't. I can't do miracles. They'd kill me over not being successful enough. Fuuu this.
So when I was working for my fellow musicians, often I was in a position to hear a rough take of some song they were wanting to work on.
And every single one of us does the exact same thing at this moment. We make this list of disclaimers like a pharmaceutical ad.
That's not the right guitar amp... and I really need new strings... and the drummer's playing his cousin's kit in this and we don't... and it doesn't... and we didn't have... and so on and so on.
So I learned to preempt this. Once they got about three words into it, I would say, "hush! and just press play."
And if they wanted to know why I was being so bossy, I would explain it's not even just that I don't want to hear that same story again. It's that we need to stop doing this. We need to just own our shit. And maybe even sometimes pretend it's the best thing ever.
The whole reason they were working with me was to make it better in the first place. So we *will* work through all those details. I just want to hear the song.
The raw cuts, the quirks in the music and the videos is what makes good content great. The honesty and gritty realness is what’s special about it
