Because it still matters in many jurisdictions and you can sue someone in the US from outside it as I understand. My main example is what if Amazon doesn’t need to ask or pay you to sell your software, they can copy your 1000 hours work, rebrand it, make money using their brand. Either in the retail or cloud divisions. They do this already with permissive licensed software but at least those vendors had a choice. With no copyright and licenses there will be no choice for anyone.

I don't care... they can do whatever the fuck they want with my work, I'm making it for anyone interested in it, including amazon. If amazon can make some bucks from my work, good for them.
Then there is a license for your choice sir! MIT perhaps? Or declare a it PD.
my license is no license at all. I don't play the game.
here's what alphaama says: `alphaama is open source without any license, fuck that shit, therefore, do whatever the fuck you want with it.`
I agree 100%. fuck this shit and I don't care about licenses, I won't try to restrict anyone from using stuff I've published and I won't respect anyone's licenses or whatever the constraints they pose on if I can get away with that without being harmed by a bandit with a gun.
I only sometimes put licenses in my github repositories because people ask because they are afraid of using my publicly available code if I don't have a legally-binding shit license there.
that's what IP and copyright laws do, they instill fear. fuck them.
there is definitely a choice for you: if you don't want someone to use your code just don't publish it.
