My Christmas tree grows in the forest, I only bring a twig or an evergreen bough as symbol of future growth. The saddest Christmas tale ever is Andersen's "The fir tree" , left to wither in the attic after the holiday season cheer and then chopped and burnt. It traumatized me as a child lol 😂
