I want to start gardening in the backyard this year. I’m generally a busy person so I was thinking of starting with like two things and expanding next year if it works out. Sweet potatoes and cherry tomatoes?

Brother, start whatever two things will make you the most happy to pick and eat.

If you are going to have a couple containers, tomatoes, herbs, peppers, are great. If you are going to start some in-ground or raised beds, anything you want.

Where are you located, or what is your zone and growing season like?

I was thinking 1 or 2 raised beds. I live in northern New England, we have a temperate climate with a growing season of late May to early October, about 50-80deg Fahrenheit. 🤙🏼
