I believe in the “sovereign individual” book future scenario: states will be desperate for money and will compete with one another to get money from anyone, something like “if you got money and you give me some I don’t give a shit about anything else”. More likely that small/developing countries will be like this.

Yeah I think that's true. For example, el Salvador. But I think the legacy nation states will steal, as is their nature

Yep I agree with you, developed countries will go for the “steal/control route” first, they’ll try everything else before giving in any control.

I hope your “friend” is/has considered a smaller/developing country for the scenario you described

No worries, anytime 🤙🏼 I also have a friend who’s been thinking the same exact thing. Perhaps our respective friends will one day meet in this 3rd country!
